Add a tool
- Open the agent.
- Add a built-in tool. The wizard also offers tools when you create the agent.
- Read the fields. They are the inputs the agent must fill.
- Connect the matching credential first when the tool reads another service.
- Run the agent with a sentence that needs that tool.
You should see the tool name in the run timeline. invalid tool means the tool function does not compile. Remove it and add it again.
Workspace tools
- Google Search takes a query and returns URLs. This is the same search as
serp.search. - Sitemap Extractor takes a site URL and returns sitemap URLs.
- Page Analyzer takes a page URL and returns the extracted content.
- Lead Database searches leads. Set enrich only when you need contact fields. That spends credits.
- Database Tables lists tables. Database Search searches table text.
- SMTP Email sends mail. IMAP Email Fetch reads a mailbox, default folder INBOX.
Google, Microsoft, and LinkedIn tools
Connect the credential before you add the tool. Google Workspace tools are profile, Gmail inbox, send Gmail, calendar list, create event, and Drive files. Microsoft 365 tools are profile, Outlook inbox, send Outlook mail, calendar list, create event, and OneDrive files. LinkedIn Advanced tools are profile, people search, company search, invitation, inbox, message, post, and engagers.
Gmail and Outlook list mail unless you pass an email id. A Gmail search query ignores the folder. Calendar tools default to now through seven days. Limits default to 10 or 20 items. LinkedIn invitation messages stay short, about 300 characters. A LinkedIn message needs chatId to reply, or a recipient id to start a chat.
If this fails: the tool returns no data
Connect Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or LinkedIn Advanced under Credentials and finish the sign-in. SMTP and IMAP need the host, user, and password in the tool config, or a credential name that matches a saved credential. An empty list means the query or the date window matched nothing. Widen it and run again.
